Who we are

Frank Home Energy Advice is operated by OLISB Ltd, the data controller for everything you share with Frank. For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, email info@smarthomeenergy.co.uk.

What we collect

• Anonymous account ID assigned the first time you chat with Frank, so we can remember your plan.
• Email address only if you choose to sign up via magic link.
• Property details — postcode, house number, and EPC information pulled on your behalf from the public GOV.UK EPC register; plus anything you confirm or correct (age band, walls, heating, etc.).
• Energy and household details — supplier, tariff, spend, tenure, benefits status, household circumstances — only the bits relevant to the advice you ask for.
• Conversations — every message you send and every reply Frank gives, plus a record of the tools Frank runs in the background (SAP calculation, grant matching, source lookups).
• Anonymous page-view analytics via Vercel Analytics. No personal data, no advertising cookies.

Why we collect it

To run Frank and remember your plan across sessions (legitimate interests + performance of contract); to fix bugs and improve Frank’s responses by reviewing what works and what doesn’t (legitimate interests); to send magic-link login emails when you sign up (performance of contract); and to count page views in aggregate (legitimate interests).

Who else sees it

We use a small number of processors to actually run the service:

• Anthropic (US) — runs the language model Frank uses; sees the contents of your chat.
• Voyage AI (US) — embeds your retrieval queries for source lookups.
• Supabase — stores your account, property, plan, and chat history.
• Vercel (US) — hosts the site and serves anonymous page-view analytics.

We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with installers, suppliers, or affiliate partners. Where data leaves the UK (Anthropic, Voyage, Vercel) we rely on the UK extension of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or on the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement, depending on the processor.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or after 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or take it elsewhere. Email info@smarthomeenergy.co.uk and we’ll act within one calendar month. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies

A strictly-necessary cookie keeps you signed in. No tracking cookies, no third-party advertising, no cross-site identifiers.

Children

Frank is intended for adults (18+) making decisions about their homes. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.

We’ll update this page when our processing materially changes. The date below shows when this version was published.
